A Spatio-temporal Tunnel/ A solo exhibition by Lin Yilin

作为从中国90年代初成立于广州较有影响力的艺术家
As the founder of one of the most influential artist groups the Big
Elephant Tail group in Guangzhou from the 1990's in China, Lin Yilin
(born 1964) is a performance/installation artist currently based in
Guangzhou and New York.
Spatio-temporal tunnel presents Lin's work during the past 2 years,
which include a video documenting a public art project commissioned
by Documenta 12 held at Kassel, Germany, a series of collaborative
performances with Norwegian students in Oslo and Guangzhou, a new
video looking at the nightlife of the Bund's pedestrian underground
tunnels, and a sculpture of the 1930's comic figure San mao. This
exhibition investigates how an artist negotiates with time and space
relative to his own diaspora.
